NCCS Resources Included in eHealth Initiative’s Health IT Cancer Resource Guide
The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship is pleased to announce that the eHealth Initiative has included three of NCCS’s patient resources in the recently launched Health IT Cancer Resource Guide. The eHealth Initiative is a non-profit organization whose mission is to drive improvement in the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare through information and technology. The national organization represents all healthcare stakeholders and has a coalition of 200 influential organizations. The Health IT Cancer Resource Guide allows cancer survivors, as well as their families, friends and caregivers, to access technology that can help them understand, plan for and cope with cancer care more easily.
NCCS’s programs aim to serve that end in a variety of ways. The Pocket Cancer Care Guide app allows cancer survivors, families and caregivers to develop lists of practical questions to guide conversations with doctors. The Journey Forward software promotes the use of treatment summaries and follow-up plans for care and monitoring after active cancer treatment. Finally, the Cancer Survivor Toolbox allows survivors, families and caregivers to learn about general issues faced by people with cancer and enables them to advocate for themselves.
As NCCS strives to make cancer resources accessible to all impacted by cancer, it is an honor to be included in the eHealth Initiative’s Health IT Cancer Resource Guide.
