The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship is hosting a free webinar titled, “Patient-Care Team Communication: How Can the Survivor Prepare to Manage a Lifetime of Care?” on Wednesday, April 29 from 3:00pm-4:30pm EDT as part of our Cancer Policy Advocate Training (CPAT) program. The CPAT program aims to train patient advocates on pressing cancer policy issues.
Deborah Mayer, PHD, RN, Professor in the Adult and Geriatric Health Division at the University of North Carolina (UNC) and the UNC Lineberger Director of Cancer Survivorship will be the feature presenter. Dr. Mayer is an advanced practice oncology nurse who has consulted with organizations on issues to improve cancer care and has over 30 years of cancer nursing practice, education, research, and management experience. Dr. Mayer earned a PhD from the University of Utah, her MSN from Yale University, her BSN from Excelsior College, her Nurse Practitioner Certificate from the University of Maryland, and her diploma from Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing.
