NCCS participates in roundtable meeting to discuss future of Health IT
NCCS was recently invited to participate in a roundtable discussion on the potential role of Health Information Technology in cancer care and care coordination. Senior Health Policy Advisor Ellen Stovall attended the June 7th meeting organized by the National Cancer Institute at NIH, the eHealth Initiative, and Dr. Farzad Mostashari, the National Coordinator for Health IT at the Department of Health and Human Services.
The event convened leaders within the cancer community for the purpose of discussing national priorities and policies for improving cancer care through technology. NCCS advocates for the value of the engaged, informed patient in improving cancer care and embraces opportunities to work with other health care leaders to determine how Health IT can improve care and promote changes that meet the treatment and privacy needs of all survivors.
