Cancer Advocacy Groups Discuss the Issues at ASCO
Last month, more than 33,000 people attended the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting in Chicago. Advocacy groups had a chance to meet with health care professionals and pharmaceutical industry representatives to discuss the latest issues in cancer.
The latest issue of Oncology Times features an article, “ASCO Venue Provides Forums for Various Advocacy Discussions and Sound Bites,” that recaps two events NCCS and other cancer advocacy groups participated in at the ASCO meeting: The Breakaway from Cancer Roundtable event and a forum called Advocacy in Action. NCCS President and CEO, Tom Sellers, was a panelist in both events, which focused on discussion of critical issues in cancer – from prevention through survivorship.
