Stovall Awards for Innovation in Patient-Centered Cancer Care, alongside new honors recognizing additional excellence in the cancer survivorship movement.

We will recognize the following individuals at the Igniting Hope Awards Reception:

  • Governor Larry Hogan – Public Service Leadership Award
  • Susan Leigh, BSN, RN-Retired – Ellen L. Stovall Award
  • Desirée A.H. Walker – Ellen L. Stovall Award

We are honored to present former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan with the Public Service Leadership Award for his extraordinary courage in sharing his cancer journey with the public. Read the Full Announcement »

Named in honor of longtime NCCS CEO and three-time cancer survivor Ellen Stovall, the Stovall Award is the only national award that recognizes individuals who have made a lasting impact on the delivery of patient-centered cancer care. Since its inception, the Stovall Awards Reception has raised more than $1.2 million, directly supporting our mission to advocate for quality cancer care for all. Governor Larry Hogan

NCCS Public Service Leadership Award
The prestigious Public Service Leadership Award recognizes Governor Hogan for his extraordinary courage and unwavering advocacy in the face of a personal cancer diagnosis, and for his impactful leadership in advancing public cancer awareness and policy. Diagnosed in 2015 with advanced non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma during his first term as governor, Hogan made the uncommon and courageous choice to share his treatment journey publicly, helping to destigmatize cancer and inspire hope among patients and families nationwide.
