A group of 90+ advocates on NCCS CPAT Hill Day 2024 in front of the U.S. CapitolThe CPAT Symposium is an opportunity to network with other advocates, develop advocacy skills, and learn about cancer policy issues — all in support of NCCS’s mission of improving the quality of cancer care for everyone touched by cancer. Goals for symposium participants are as follows:

  • Visit Capitol Hill to share your story with your representatives and advocate for quality cancer care.
  • Learn about topics including survivorship legislation, mental health, and self care in advocacy.
  • Join the 2025 Ellen Stovall Award Reception to celebrate advocacy and survivorship.
  • Participate in activities with medical students from the CUPID (Cancer in the Under-Privileged Indigent or Disadvantaged) program.
  • Network with other advocates and engage with the NCCS team.
The early-bird registration fee is $100 until April 15.

How To Attend

NCCS receives grant funding to host the CPAT Symposium, and we strive to make it affordable and accessible to advocates. Registration fees paid by advocates cover a small portion of NCCS’s expense for the conference. We need your help to keep the CPAT Symposium affordable to all advocates.

The early-bird registration fee is $100 until April 15. Starting April 16, the registration fee is $150.

Here is how you can attend the CPAT Symposium:

  1. Cover the travel (use your frequent flyer miles) and/or book your own hotel accommodations.
  2. Apply for an Advocate Scholarship. The scholarship provides financial assistance to those who would otherwise be unable to attend. If you qualify for the advocate scholarship, please apply for it before completing the registration below. Advocates must apply by March 31 at 11:59 ET to be considered for the advocate scholarship.
All applications will be reviewed and awarded by April 7.

CPAT Symposium and Hill Day is a 3-day fast-paced event in Washington, DC.  Please take these details into consideration when deciding if you will be able to participate.

  • The weather in June in Washington, DC is often very hot and humid.
  • Capitol Hill is a sprawling campus, and advocates can anticipate taking approximately 10,000 steps to visit their representatives.
  • Advocates will be encouraged to use the Metro to travel from the hotel to Capitol Hill due to the weather and distance to legislative offices.

The CPAT Symposium has limited event capacity.

If you are unable to attend the Symposium, the registration fee is refundable before May 31, 2025.
